Our very own, Senior National Account Manager, Kyle Cooper has done something incredible for our local Florida Hospital.
Gamers Outreach is a charity organization that provides recreation to children in hospitals through the power of video games and the gaming community. Hospitalization can often be a lonely, isolating, and scary experience for young people. We ease those burdens by providing equipment, technology, and software that help kids cope with long-term treatment.
Gamers Outreach supports 183,960 children per year!
Many of you don’t know, but I have been quietly working on a project that I hold very close to my heart. It is in support of children who unfortunately have to spend time in hospitals due to illness or unforeseen accidents. This topic is especially personal to me, because I was one of those kids.
I have started an organized a fundraising campaign with Florida Hospital for Children and Gamer’s Outreach, to develop and donate portable video-game stations that can transferred from room to room.
These “GO Karts” bring a welcome distraction, joy, hope, and so much more to patients. It provides an escape where they can forget about whatever terrible circumstance they may be facing and just allows them to be a child and play. For some young patients, this is so much more than an “escape”, especially for these children who have to spend weeks or months out of their homes, away from their friends, and in long-term hospital care.
Help me develop these GO Karts for one of our local Children’s hospitals. If we each make a small donation we could be providing long-term support for so many kids suffering or in recovery.
This is a personal effort and not company mandated. It is something I plan to do every year and I am hoping you can all help me in my effort to donate at least one GO cart to the Florida Hospital for Children.
