Orlando Business Journal‘s 2018 Coolest Office Spaces honoree Crawford Thomas Recruiting likes to introduce the company culture as soon as people step into the modern, industrial-style lobby.
The staffing firm’s 10,000-square-foot space on Keller Road in northwest Orlando boasts a Kegerator, foosball table and two big-screen TVs right in front, along with a 10-foot, wall-mounted company logo. The firm’s 35 employees have plenty of space to work hard, with dual-linked computer screens, digital phone systems with color display and seven areas — not including their desks — where they can speak with candidates or clients in private, noise-free settings.
And then, there’s the play-hard side: golf clubs, Nerf guns, hoverboards, mini-drones and medicine ball chairs are plentiful throughout the office, allowing employees areas to decompress. And clients are invited to quarterly happy hour events that start at the high-top bar that seats 10 and spill out onto the office patio, all of which has access to hearing the Sirius XM radio surround sound.
Crawford Thomas, which has been in the space for five years, spent about $150,000 on the buildout and worked with Orlando-based Scott + Cormia Architecture & Interiors LLC, as well as office furniture specialist Workscapes Inc.
“By providing a fun and modern atmosphere, Crawford Thomas Recruiting can keep the best recruiters and account managers with ease,” the firm said in its Coolest Office Spaces nomination form. “We spend the money on our office so our employees will wake up every day and want to come to work. When an employee is comfortable, they are happy and when they’re happy, they work more efficiently.”
